Emma & Sam - Friday 31st May 2019

Where do I start?

I met Emma at the very first wedding fayre that I attended, 'The Big Worcester Wedding Show'. She told me the other day that the products I showcased at that event, were what caught her eye - especially the Illamasqua products. Emma actually messaged me on the same day and we secured a trial for herself and mother, which took place in March.

Fast forward a couple of months and watching Emma countdown daily on her Instagram stories...and it was her wedding day. It was a VERY early start (up at 3.00AM) for myself and my assistant, Julie, which gave us time to travel to the Chateau Impney, set-up and start the first bridesmaid at 5.00AM. Luckily for us, Emma was up bright and early and her first bridesmaid to have makeup done was a morning person. I hadn't met the bridesmaids or mother of the groom for a trial before the day but worked with them to bring to life the bride and their ideas for makeup.

BRIDESMAIDS:

All 3 bridesmaids had a soft brown eye which was tailored to suit, paired with a nude lip. 2 of the bridesmaids were fond of makeup and knew that they wanted eyelashes on, however as Tracey (bridesmaid) doesn't wear a lot of makeup, we enhanced her eyes with individual lashes on the outer part for a bit of volume.

MOTHER OF THE BRIDE:

We brought out the pink-y tones in Joan's dress (the mother of the bride) and added a flush of colour to her cheeks. P.S she is now an owner of the YSL Touche Eclat Foundation in the shade B20 because she loved it so much!

MOTHER OF THE GROOM:

We played safe with neutral colours on the eyes and a pink-nude colour from MAC. She wanted to try lashes, however I advised her that if she was not used to them, maybe this day wasn't the day to try them. We did however add Individual Ardell Knot-Free Lashes to make her eyes POP.

BRIDE:

Last but not least, the beautiful bride Emma. We stuck with a brand that she loved which was of course, Illamasqua. We went for soft browns on the eyes, smudged brown eyeliner on the upper lid and a gold-silver shimmer to really open her eyes. At her trial, I put a lipstick on her and Emma knew EXACTLY which shade I used - Rosepout.

Thank you all for making myself and Julie welcome and for choosing me to be your bridal makeup artist. I hope to see you again and look forward to seeing the photographs!
