How soon should I book my wedding makeup?

Ideally as soon as you have booked your main suppliers such as the venue, florist, photographer etc.

Makeup can sometimes be left till last-minute but by then alot of artists are already booked up.

Makeup and hair can be booked up sometimes two years in advance.

Do you have a minimum booking amount?

During April-September (peak wedding season), I require a minimum booking of 1 Bride + 2 Adult Bridal Party Members.

How do I book and what deposit do you take?

Accepted Answer

For wedding makeup, please see the below:
To secure your date - £50.00 non-refundable amount
Preview payments - Due one week before the preview(s) take place
Final payment - Due two weeks before the wedding date

For occasion makeup bookings, please see the below:
To secure your date - £50.00 non-refundable amount
Preview payments - Due one week before the preview(s) take place
Final payment - Due two weeks before the event date

If you do not require a preview for your occasion makeup booking, it will be as follows:
To secure your date - 50% non-refundable amount
Final payment - 50% due two weeks before the event date

Are your products suitable for sensitive skin?

Accepted Answer

Yes, my kit includes products for all skin types, including sensitive skin. I’m well-versed in what works best for different skin types and will avoid anything that could cause a flare-up. If you know specific ingredients you’re sensitive to, just let me know, and we’ll steer clear of those. For peace of mind, I recommend booking a preview for any bridal party members with sensitive skin to ensure everything goes smoothly on the big day.

How long does makeup take on the day of the wedding?

For Brides, I allow myself 45-60 minutes depending on the complexity of the look and for other party members I give myself 40-45 minutes.

My aim is to have everybody ready makeup wise at least one hour before the ceremony.

Will you travel to my wedding venue?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! I’ll come to your wedding venue (or any location you choose) on the morning of your big day. I also travel to you for your makeup preview. I offer complimentary travel within 15 miles of my DY8 postcode, with a small charge of £0.45 per extra mile beyond that. All costs are included in your initial quote, so there are no surprises!

My makeup style is all about soft, natural, and enhancing looks. I aim to bring out your best features so you look like the most beautiful version of yourself on your wedding day, not someone else entirely.

Do you stay for touch-ups?

Accepted Answer

Yes!

Every wedding booking will have me on hand for touch-ups until you leave for the ceremony. Every member of the bridal party will also receive a pot of lipstick and a disposable lip wand for them to take away with them to reapply throughout the day.

I also offer an after ceremony touch-up service. This is perfect for those of you that want to have your makeup touched up and perfected after your ceremony. I recommend this is you are expecting to be emotional during your ceremony as we can ensure your makeup looks as good as it did when first applied ready for your bridal portraits. This service is for 1.5 hours from your ceremony start time and is for all party members.

Which makeup brands are in your kit?

I use only the best, tried and tested products in my kit. My favourites include Charlotte Tilbury, NARS, MAC, Bobbi Brown, and Armani. These brands help me create that perfect, glowy look you’ll love!

I specialise in makeup, but I can always recommend some amazing hairstylists that I work alongside regularly.

What if my venue doesn’t allow us in until 9am?

Accepted Answer

No worries, this is quite common! It depends on your ceremony time and the size of your bridal party. Option 1: We can start hair and makeup at a nearby location until 9am, then move to the venue. Option 2: I can bring an assistant to help from 9am. We’ll make sure everything runs smoothly!

How many people can you complete makeup for on your own?

Accepted Answer

This depends on the time of your wedding ceremony, but at max I could complete 7 people without needing an assistant.

For example: If your ceremony is at 12.00pm and you have 7 people, chances are that we would need to start your makeup early. This is absolutely fine for me as an artist but note that each person takes 45-50 minutes.

Any additional people after this or for a later start time, I would require an assistant. The assistant would complete a couple of your bridal party members whilst I would still do the Bride, Mothers etc.
