Chloe's Wedding Morning: My Second Wedding of the Year

On Monday 24th February, I had my second wedding of the year, and it happened to be at a venue that I love working at - Curradine Barns. I was also working alongside bridal hairstylist, Samantha Louise Hair, and if you have ever asked me for recommendations you'll already know of Sam!

I got there just before 9:00 am, as that's when their bridal prep room opens. Fortunately, this venue has just one small staircase instead of many (I'm already out of breath thinking about some other venues). I began setting up my space, typically near the window for natural light, while Sam arranged her station by the mirrors. By 9:15 am, Chloe and her bridal party were ready to begin their hair and makeup!

I almost forgot...I obviously had to make a coffee before I started. I feel like I need to mention that I had NO IDEA how to use a Tassimo coffee machine, it just wasn't happening for me, so it was instant coffee for me. Sam will also tell you that I may as well be her coffee P.A at this point beause shes always thinking about having one but never actually says she will until I do - makes me laugh.

9.15am - I started with the first bridesmaid, which was Chloe's sister Keeley. She explained how she doesn't wear alot of eye makeup due to her eyelash extensions but wanted a little bit of sparkle. Keeley wanted her base to be the main focus with bronzer and blush, which she wasn't afraid of.

10.05am - It was then Danielle's turn for makeup. She was actually the only one out of the bridesmaids without lash extensions on so I asked if wanted me to add any. Similar to Keeley's makeup, we went for a bronzer in the crease but actually kept the lid matte rather than shimmery, as this was her personal preference. Due to adding lashes, I added a thin bit of eyeliner to the lash line just so that they blended more seamlessly to her natural lashes once coated with some mascara. We warmed up the base with some bronzer and blush and went for my current favourite lipstick shade 'Icon Baby' by Charlotte Tilbury.

Mother of the Bride

10.45am - Next in my chair was Jo, Mother of the Bride. Jo also had individual lashes extensions on. We went for a neutral eye with gold sparkle as this was something that shes likes. Jo had amazing eyes so we made this the main focus.

11.30am - Usually I would do the Bride second-to-last but as we were doing well for timing, me and Sam just swapped Chloe and one of the bridesmaids around. Similar to the other girls, but this bridesmaid had a mini smoked out winged liner!

12.20pm - It was finally Chloe's turn for makeup! Chloe doesn't wear alot of makeup on a daily basis so we went for neutral eyes but the only change from her trial was to have more of a golden tone rather than champagne on the eyes - super easy change. Subtle bronzed skin with a hint of blush and highlight as Chloe isn't a huge blush wearer. As she doesn't wear lipstick usually, we opted for a lipgloss with a pink sheen to it.

The morning flew by and our timings worked to perfection. She got into her dress with plenty of time to spare before speaking with the registrar. We did makeup and hair touch-ups once each bridesmaid had gotten into their dress.

I waited until Chloe had had her meeting, her reveal to the bridal party and a few photographs with her photographer, before doing final touch-ups for herself.

Thank you Chloe for booking me as your bridal makeup artist! Congratulations to you and Reece!
