You want to feel confident in every photo, but you're struggling with acne or rosacea. It’s normal to feel anxious - but please don’t worry! With the right preparation, skincare, and makeup techniques, you can still achieve a flawless look that lasts all day.
First things first...
X DO NOT:
DO NOT start any new skincare products when its 3 months before your wedding day. This is not the time to introduce something that potentially might make your skin worse (unless directed by a professional of course). Stick to products your skin is used to.
DO NOT pick or squeeze your spots. Only squeeze a spot if you can visibly see a whitehead. Read this blog post by Caroline Hirons about how to safely do this.
When you mess with a pimple, you can sometimes invite unwanted consequences. Makeup can cover redness, but it makes it difficult to cover open wounds or little spot mountains that you've created by squeezing one that isn't quite ready to pop yet.

Makeup artists work with people of all skin types: oily, combination, dry, sensitive, acne-prone, eczema prone, rosacea prone - the list goes on. Make sure to do your research and check out their work to see what they have previously done with somebody in a similar situation to you.
The key is to not overload the skin with product and to work in thin layers so not to crack, crease or look heavy. We want natural!

Previews
Previews for the bride will take place 8-12+ weeks before the big day. Its for us to discuss your ideal bridal look and any concerns you might have, including skin. Wear the makeup as long as you possibly can so that you can see how it wears and give me in-depth feedback afterwards.
Touch-Ups Before The Ceremony
Before you leave for the ceremony, I will always do touch-ups so that your makeup will look as fresh as it did when we finished it earlier that morning.
Touch-Ups After The Ceremony
Totally optional, but my brides can have me to stay-on after their ceremony for touch-ups for the whole bridal party. Perfect if you're likely to get emotional or a face toucher!
Final Tips
Don’t stress - stress itself can trigger breakouts, so take deep breaths and trust your prep
Hydrate! Water keeps your skin looking plump and healthy
Focus on the bigger picture: your happiness and memories, not a blemish or two
With the right preparation and professional makeup techniques, acne/redness doesn’t have to stand in the way of your dream bridal look. You can walk down the aisle looking radiant, confident, and ready for your close-up.
